This paper proposes the use of Linked Open Data (LOD) in the energy domain to improve the value of freely available data sources. By linking different open data sources also from several providers the data quality can be improved as well as new data insights derived. The number of energy data sources is steadily increasing and transparency platforms from ENTSO-E, SMARD and others offer data on energy resources, generation & load profiles and many more. We propose to link data objects from these sources with each other to improve data analysis and generate additional value from the sources. We demonstrate the value of LOD with data-driven use cases for e-mobility, e.g. by looking at the regional distribution of e-car registrations compared to availability of public charging stations.
