In this paper, a model to simulate future scenarios of low voltage grids in respect to the ongoing energy transition and with focus on bidirectional electric vehicles (EV) is described. To evaluate the grid load typical low voltage grids were combined with a future scenario regarding energy production by photovoltaic (PV) plants and electric vehicles (EV). With the focus on user benefits bidirectional EV were used to optimize the PV self-consumption or to lower the costs for energy consumption if dynamic prices are available. The scope of the analysis is set to the resulting simultaneous grid loads of the EV as well as potential grid overloads.
