Inhalt:
The "Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD)” is a cross-location association of eleven Fraunhofer and two Leibniz Institutes in the field of micro/nanoelectronics research and development. One core area of joint activities are Solid-State LiDAR components and systems. In this article an overview of the current components and their possible applications in different LiDAR applications is given. Complementary technologies for robust detection of the vehicle environment build the key competence for reliable detection and classification of the entire scenery in the environment of a vehicle. For this reason, this article will present solutions from the field of RADAR as well. With its distributed knowledge pool, FMD enables Tier-1s and OEMs to develop innovative solutions at component and system level in the field of RADAR. The development of test environments for RADAR systems complete the research offer of the FMD.
