The German energy supply is changing and new ideas and technologies have to be implemented to support this process successfully. This paper describes an approach which allows for a high level of self-sufficiency using current and future electric consumers, e.g. white goods, electric vehicles and heating systems. An energy management algorithm stimulates the energy consumption and generation of these devices, for example, by managing the generation phases of micro Combined Heat and Power Plants (muCHP) and shifting activation times of white goods. The efficiency of this approach is verified using a simulator which is based on real measurements and capable of simulating power and heat behaviour. First results show that a high level of selfsufficiency can be reached.
