Implementation of a low cost RF solution for LTE Pico Base Station

In this paper, a low cost MIMO RF solution based on APD for LTE pico base station is implemented. After the comparison between APD and DPD, one APD-based RF architecture and block function is introduced. The RF solution has been systematically divided into several sub-modules. Each sub-module is then separately designed and characterized. The obtained measurement results demonstrate that the low cost RF solution not only has simple implementation and good efficiency but also meets the LTE pico BS requirements.
