In this paper ultrahigh resolution X-Band SAR-images are presented that were acquired by SmartRadar (=Scaleable Multipurpose Aerospace Radar Technology) during a flight campaign in June 2011. The SmartRadar was combined with a new AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Antenna) and integrated in a pod which is mounted underneath the right wing of a Learjet.
