In two years of survey project on "GreenElectronics technology toward 2050 highly electrified society" (Report ID-No. Q05018) funded by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), it has been found that power electronics is the key technology for the future reduction of CO2 emission with power electronics equipment used ubiquitous way in variety of application including EV, heat pumps, lightings, renewable energy systems, ICTs and motor drives. This paper reports scenarios in terms of "Negawatt" (efficiency as energy resource without CO2 emission) with power electronics technology.
