The High Resolution Wide Swath (HRWS) SAR concept incorporates digital beamforming techniques to overcome performance limitations of conventional SAR. At present, interlinked studies on HRWS frontend technology under ESA and DLR contract are conducted at Astrium GmbH. The paper gives an overview of the developments, current status and results.
