The purpose of this special standard is to specify special requirements for Basic Safety and the Essential Performance Indicators for Short Wave Therapy Devices (hereinafter referred to as ME Equipment) and as defined in 201.3.206. IEC 60601-2-3 was amended to align to the Amendment projects of the IEC 60601-1 series.
Low Power Devices as defined in 201.3.202 are exempt from certain requirements of this standard.
The following modifications have been made:
- Replacement of footnote 1
- IEC 60601-1-3 and IEC 60601-1-12 no longer apply
- Three normative references have been added
- Reference to IEC 60601-1 has been updated for latest available issue.
