This VDE Application Guide describes the requirements for the collection and disposal of PV modules from the determination of the end of use of a PV plant until the provision of the secondary raw materials. This includes the elements
- Dismantling and sorting for possible reuse as used equipment,
- Collection, logistics and transport as end-of-life equipment,
- Treatment, preparation for reuse, recycling and recovery of end-of-life modules.
The VDE Application Guide refers only to crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules.
Requirements and tests for reuse are excluded.
Note: Crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules can be identified, for example, according to DIN EN 50625-2-4 (VDE 0042-13-24) Annex AA.1.2.
