Assessment of the compliance of low power electronic and electrical equipment with the basic restrictions related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields (10 MHz to 300 GHz)
(IEC 62479:2010, modified); German version EN 62479:2010 Class/Status:
Standard,
valid
Released: 2011-09
VDE Art. No.: 0848043
This standard contains the German version of the European EMF Generic Standard EN 62479:2010 and takes over the International EMF Generic Standard IEC 62479:2010 with european modifications. It contains requirements for the demonstration of the safety of persons in electromagnetic fields in the frequency range 10 MHz bis 300 GHz from low power electronic and electrical equipment. This standard defines for this purpose a low power exclusion level and describes the evaluation of this level dependant from the relevant parameters. Equipment, which fulfils this limit do not need a further assessment. If this is not the case other standards including the EN 62311 or relevant (EMF) product standards can be used for the assessment. Furthermore this standard contains requirements concerning the measurement uncertainty and for the assessment report.
