This VDE-Guideline is part of a series of VDE-Guidelines for the further training and education of personnel in broadband expansion. It describes the specialization module, which builds on the following modules: Module of Fundamentals of Fiber Optics: The contents described in this VDE-Guideline for courses and seminars, assume knowledge of the learning objectives of VDE 0800-200 "Guidelines and qualification patterns broadband - Part 200: Basic module of fibre optics technology". Knowledge of optical connection and measurement technology is assumed. A successfully completed course, e. g., "Fibre optic installation specialist" or a self-declaration of corresponding knowledge serves as proof. An example of a self-declaration can be found in Appendix G. This VDE-Guideline specifies the procedure for advanced training in network level 3 (Central Office/Point of Presence (POP) to the fibre optic termination point (Gf-AP) with the network elements contained therein) and the associated fibre optic trades. The requirements for the associated cable civil engineering and the professional laying of micro-tube bracings or cables are not part of this VDE-Guideline.
