Basic standard for the in-situ assessment of exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic fields in the vicinity of a broadcast site;
German version EN 50554:2021 Class/Status:
Standard,
valid
Released: 2023-10
VDE Art. No.: 0800889
This standard contains the German version of the second edition of the European Standard EN 50554 and establishes the basis for the in-situ assessment of the exposure of the general public to electromagnetic fields at the site of a broadcast transmitter. Hereby it is taken into account that fields from other sources can exist at this location. The standard plays an essential role in the coordination of different stakeholders, with respect to ensuring EMF exposure compliance in and around a broadcast site especially for equipment installed within the site. Specific national regulations that apply in Germany and in Italy are explained in an annex. In relation to the previous standard the relevant information was updated. Furthermore, the reference to European Directive for the safety of workers was modified to the new Directive 2013/35/EU. Finally, a method for the determination of a relevant domain was introduced.
