This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN IEC 61643-341:2020 and is identical with the 2nd edition of International Standard IEC 61643-341 (edition 2020-05). It describes performance requirements and test circuits and methods for the determination of relevant electric characteristics of thyristor surge suppressors (TSS) which are intended for use in surge protective devices that are used in information and telecommunication networks. The requirements and methods are concerned with the service and overvoltage conditions for l thyristor surge suppressors and serve for the verification of their essential electrical characteristics. The standard applies to gated and non-gated thyristor surge suppressors with two, three or four terminals.
