This document describes the remote powering of equipment of broadband access networks deploying coaxial cables according to DIN EN 50117-11-1 (VDE 0887-11-1) and DIN EN 50117-11-2 (VDE 0887-11-2) or equivalent hybrid cables with operating voltages being in the low voltage range (max. 1 000 V AC nominal voltage). Currently, depending on the component used (e.g. cable fittings and connectors), up to 230 V AC +/- 10% according to DIN EN 50160 are possible.
