Measurement procedure for the assessment of specific absorption rate of human exposure to radio frequency fields from hand-held and body-mounted wireless communication devices
Part 3: Vector measurement-based systems (Frequency range of 600 MHz to 6 GHz)
(IEC 62209-3:2019); German version EN IEC 62209-3:2019 Class/Status:
Standard,
valid
Released: 2021-12
VDE Art. No.: 0800753
This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN IEC 62209-3:2019 and is identical with the International standard IEC 62209-3:2019. It describes a method for the measurement of the specific absorption rate (SAR) related to the assessment of the human exposure to electromagnetic fields from wireless communication devices in the frequency range 600 MHz to 6 GHz. This method uses vector measurement-based systems that evaluate the peak SAR in the phantom (body simulation) with the use of a 3D field reconstruction algorithm. The measurement applies to devices that are operated in close proximity to the human head or body. The description of the measurement method including specifications of the measurement phantom and specifications for the determination of the measurement uncertainty and for the system check and system validation are contained in this standard.
