This document applies to all processes in connection with the life cycle, such as planning, development, system integration, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of road traffic engineering systems, consisting of road traffic signal systems in the sense of DIN EN 50556 (VDE 0832 100), traffic control systems in the sense of DIN VDE V 0832 400 (VDE V 0832 400) and central control systems, as well as all elements connected with them by data transmission.
The scope of this document covers in particular the entire digital infrastructure of road traffic technology with its control and guidance systems. This includes the following systems, applications and components:
- the entire IT-supported decentralised and centralised control technology and the IT systems used for its operation, such as programming and parameterisation devices;
- the entire network, telemetry and remote control technology used for communication in control engineering;
- all operating systems, drivers, programs and applications used on the aforementioned systems.
