EN 50174 series specifies the requirements for the specification, planning, implementation and operational phases of information technology cabling, which are applicable to both generic cabling systems (see series DIN EN 50173 (VDE 0800-173)) and application specific cabling (see e.g. DIN EN 50700 (VDE0800-700)). DIN EN 50174-1 (VDE 0800-174-1) contains the specifications that shall be met during the specification and operational phases of a cabling system, and provides related recommended practices. Amendment A1 corrects 4.1.3.3.1 regarding remote powering Category RP1 and clarifies F.1.2 regarding minimum sample sizes for alien (exogenous) crosstalk testing.
