Human exposure to radio frequency fields from hand-held and body-mounted wireless communication devices – Human models, instrumentation, and procedures
Part 2: Procedure to determine the specific absorption rate (SAR) for wireless communication devices used in close proximity to the human body (frequency range of 30 MHz to 6 GHz)
(IEC 62209-2:2010 + Cor.:2010 + A1:2019); German version EN 62209-2:2010 + A1:2019 Class/Status:
Standard,
valid

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 62209-2:2010 and is identical with the International standard IEC 62209-2:2010. It serves the measurement of the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) related to human exposure to electromagnetic fields from wireless communication devices in the frequency range 300 MHz to 3 GHz. It applies to the operation of the devices in close proximity to the human body. However it does not apply to the operation of mobile phones close to the head which is covered by part 1 of this standard. The measurements are done by exposition of a measurement phantom (body simulator) by the electromagnetic fields and determination of the SAR with the use of a probe. The description of the measurement method, specifications of this measurement phantom and specifications for the determination of the measurement uncertainty are contained in this standard.
