DIN EN IEC 61643-331 VDE 0845-5-3:2020-01

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 61643-331 and is identical with the International Standard IEC 61643-331. It describes performance requirements and test methods for metal oxide varistors (MOV) which are used for the design and the construction of surge protective devices connected to low-voltage supply systems, telecommunications and signalling networks. It contains specifications concerning the service conditions and concerning the mechanical and electrical characteristics of the MOV and methods for the verification of these characteristics. In annex A informations for the test of MOV in accordance with the classes I, II and III of IEC 61643-11:2011 are given. Further information is contained in den new annexes B, C and D.
