This standard updates the formal structure and the technical contents of the previous edition. Among others, it introduces new component categories 8.1 and 8.2 for balanced copper cabling and OM5 for fibre optic cabling, removes CCCB cabling and its components, amends the functional elements and defines the underlying design principles of home cabling.
