This part of IEC 60728 defines the characteristics of equipment used in the headends of terrestrial broadcast and satellite receiving systems (without satellite outdoor units and without those broadband amplifiers in the headend as described in IEC 60728-3).
The main issues to be considered in this revision include:
- Update of the scope to a new version;
- to add the requirements/parameters for DVB-T2;
- Update of the referenced standards, especially regarding DVB-T2;
- Incorporation of the IPTV interfaces according to CLC/TR 50083-5-1 to Figure 1 of IEC/EN 60728-5;
- Editorial clean up, where necessary.
