Technical assistant systems enhance autonomy and provide an intelligent environment which can be adapted to the user’s individual needs. Unambiguous description methods are needed to adapt such assistant systems to certain specific applications and implement them adequately and precisely. The conceptual implementation of such adaptations of technologies and systems can be supported by the use of integration profiles. This VDE application guide specifies the functional requirements of the system to be planned by clearly describing the functions required to implement an AAL application scenario and clarifying their interfaces.
