Ambient Assisted Living comprises methods, concepts, (electronic) systems, products and services intended to support people‘s everyday activities in an unobtrusive fashion according to the particular situation. Such assistant systems serve to generate among others a preventive alarm signal in unclear situations in the home environment. This VDE application guide is the basis for integrating technical assistant systems in homes and residential buildings (both for new buildings and existing housing). It describes the components of assistant systems and their possible networking, technical building requirements and supporting processes for installation and operation.
