This Part 5 of IEC 62845 series covers Lithium-Ion batteries and provides requirements on safety aspects associated with the installation, use, inspection, maintenance and disposal. It applies to stationary secondary batteries and battery installations with a maximum voltage of DC 1500 V (nominal) and describes the principal measures for protections against hazard generated from electricity, short circuits and electrolyte.
