Abstract:
This paper investigates two possible configurations of a power converter with a generic number of parallel H-bridges in interleaved configuration, namely common DC-bus configuration (CDC) and split DC-bus configuration (SDC). Comparison of RMS currents in CDC and SDC are performed as a function of the number of H-bridges to analyze the effect of circulating currents. Normalization of the RMS current in CDC is proposed to decouple the effect of the circulating current from the output current. The analytical developments for both configurations are numerically validated considering a large set of parallel H-bridge and duty cycles.
