Abstract:
In this paper an extended use of CFD simulation results in PLECS, an established simulation tool will be discussed. In the context of previous researches, a matrix to describe the characteristics of the de-veloped thermal management was developed. This description can be interpreted as a lookup table. This approach is used to extend the PLECS model by a dynamic heat sink. The thermal resistance is variable and depending on additional parameters, in this case the volume flow. In addition, control loops for the volume flow are considered. In further steps the consideration of additional losses that are required to cool the electrical parts can be added. Such as the power of the pump used for the coolant.
