Abstract:
The shift to electric vehicles, including private cars, public transport or logistics, leads to a coupling of the mobility and electricity sector. This creates a wide range of challenges and potentials for different stakeholders. To effectively address these challenges and fully realise the potentials, it is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of the system, which requires access to data. As the mobility sector becomes more digital, data generation is increasing. However, this data is often distributed across different software, making it difficult to access and use. The dispersal and access of data is a significant constraint for taking advantage of data-driven decisions. A Charge Point Management System (CPMS), which is the subject of this paper, is emerging as a solution to this problem. By consolidating and integrating different data sources, a CPMS is a central platform that allows the implementation of grid-friendly use cases. It enables stakeholders to gain valuable insights into the status of charging infrastructure, energy consumption, usage patterns and other relevant parameters.
