Abstract:
The present work analyzes the choice of basis vectors in the case of a model-predictive controlled matrix converter with fast-switching semiconductors. The focus lays on the comparison of finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) structures with respect to realization effort, quality of the posed system as well as influences on the source system. For the investigation, the FCS-MPC algorithm for permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) in grid applications with and without rotating voltage vectors is derived. Both approaches are evaluated in terms of complexity, total harmonic distortion (THD) and dynamics based on simulation. Finally, an estimation can be made when which of the two algorithms is to be preferred.
