Abstract:
This paper proposes a real-time AC impedance measurement system using limited energy onboard excitation for BMS (Battery Management System). This scheme provides a compact solution for monitoring the health or aging of the battery pack through EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) measurement. The AC excitation signal is generated from the limited energy unit so the inspection can occur at any time without an external power supply or charger. The accuracy of the AC current control and voltage measurement is significantly improved by using an adaptive frequency controller and reconfigurable sampling circuit. It makes BMS more convenient and safer.
