Abstract:
The number of gold medals and medals in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics has created the highest number in China's history. In order to explore the intrinsic characteristics of China's competitive strength in the Winter Olympics, the distribution of gold, silver and copper medals attributed to China's men, women and mixed events in the 1980-2022 Winter Olympics is taken as the research object. And the historical evolution characteristics of China's competitive strength in the Winter Olympics are analyzed by literature, statistical methods, and comparative analysis. Conclusions are obtained: 1) the number of medals in China's winter Olympics has achieved the development process of "grow out of nothing" and "from having to strong"; 2) The competitive strength of males and females has gone through the process of "Yin flourishing and Yang declining" to "Yin and Yang balance"; 3) Ice and snow events have experienced the process from "strong ice but weak snow" to "ice and snow balance", and the source of the gold medal-winning is form single to diversified; 4) On the basis of speed skating, figure skating and short track speed skating, freestyle skiing and snowboarding have been added to the advantageous events; 5) China's winter Olympic athletic strength has gone through five stages: "obscurity", "emergence", "rapid development", "bottleneck" and "excellence".
