Abstract:
In order to obtain the local field potentials (LFP) and action potentials (AP) hidden in the neural signal, and effectively separate the two signals, this study proposes a bandwidth tunable preamplification for separating LFP/AP signals. Unlike in the past, this study is performed by means of a MOS transistor controlled by an external clock, thus achieving the function of a switched capacitor band-pass filter. Effective separation of LFP (0.5Hz-300Hz) and AP (300Hz-10Kz) is achieved. It also reduces the chip area problem caused by the use of large resistors. Spectre simulations show that this bandwidth-adjustable preamplifier amplifies the LFP and AP signals while effectively separating the two signals.
