Abstract:
As the penetration of photovoltaic systems (PVs) increases in active distributed networks (ANDs), the overvoltage due to reverse power flow is becoming more and more serious. Besides, methods based on traditional centralized control will not satisfy the computing time requirements of voltage control due to the dimension of control variables. This study proposes a coordinated voltage control method based on PV cluster partition for high penetrated PVs in ADNs. A community detection algorithm using reactive/active power partition quality function is introduced to divide the PVs into reactive/active power PV clusters. For the voltage control, a distributed second-order cone model is established in the reactive/active power PV clusters using the minimum amount of compensated reactive power/ curtailed active power. The proposed model in each cluster is solved by a parallel iterative optimization method, so as to achieve the purpose of coordinated control among the clusters. The proposed approach is applied to an actual feeder in China to verify the effectiveness.
