Abstract:
With the rapid development of modern science and technology, new weapons have been developed and utilized. As weapons are updated, protection measures should be improved, and then the production of new weapons might also be provoked. Preventing the electric power system from being attacked by graphite bomb is one of the important works to guarantee the safety of power supply in wartime. Based on the analysis of the working principle of graphite bomb and the characteristics of China power system, the protection measures against the threat of graphite bomb were analysed. Currently, the active protections are concentrated in radar jam signal and the passive defenses are mostly focused on the resistance capability of the power system, the rapid repair, air curtain protection, and so on. Finally, the power system should have strong anti-attack capability and ensure the safe operation as the lifeline project.
