Abstract:
Tensile and compression test were carried out on wrought AZ31 magnesium alloy. The experimental results indicates that there is strong tension-compression yield asymmetry in wrought AZ31 alloy due to difference deformation mode under tensile and compression load. After one pass ECAP treatment, tension-compression yield asymmetry of AZ31 alloy is impaired and fatigue properties is improved. Analysis on micro-structure evolution shows that twin and cylindrical slip play important role in tension-compression yield asymmetry and fatigue behaviors.
