Abstract:
This paper proposes a novel CMOS bandgap reference (BGR) with the piecewise compensation circuit. The proposed compensation circuit is formed by using a current mirror, a subtraction circuit and an addition circuit to achieve a constant reference voltage and low temperature coefficient (TC) over an extensive temperature range. Design and simulation of the proposed bandgap reference was performed by SMIC.18 CMOS technology. Simulation indicated that a TC equal to 0.658 ppm/°C obtained at a 3.3 V supply voltage and temperature range from -40 °C to 125 °C. The magnitude of simulated reference voltage was 1.2 V. The line regulation is 0.001019 %/V in the supply voltage range of 3.2 V - 3.4 V.
