Abstract:
Compound helicopters have always been the focus of helicopter research, which can make up for the shortcomings of traditional helicopters with low flight speed. The small-scale compound coaxial unmanned helicopter is based on the configuration of the tail thruster, focusing on the change of pitch angle of the helicopter at a certain forward flight speed. The aerodynamic model of the helicopter is established, and the forward flight equilibrium equations are obtained. The Newton method is used to solve the equation group, obtaining the simulation data. The sample helicopter is tested in forward flight at a certain speed without tail thruster and with tail thruster, obtaining the experimental data. And comparing the simulation data with experimental data and obtaining the analysis of the results. The research shows that the aerodynamic model of the coaxial helicopter is consistent with the reality at low speed forward flight. The addition of tail thruster reduces the pitch angle of the helicopter during stable forward flight and also reduces the power consumption of the coaxial rotors.
