Abstract:
In recent years, with the development of power electronics technology, NPC three-level technology has been more and more applied in various fields, including photovoltaic inverters, wind power converters, UPS, APF, high-frequency power supply, etc. Meanwhile, the demand for inverters incorporating large-capacity IGBT modules has increased in line with the growing use of renewable energy. In order to apply high voltage, NPC (Neutral Point Clamped) three-level circuit is commonly used. Meanwhile, the power rating of inverters is getting larger and larger, so IGBT paralleling is inevitable. The current sharing is a design difficulty. LV100-package is a newly developed IGBT package. It has compact volume and lower internal stray inductance. This paper will discuss two layouts for LV100-type IGBT modules. The simulation and experiments were done to compare the current balance and commutation loop stray inductance.
