Abstract:
Virtual reality is a technology in the field of computer. It is found that it has better pertinence and applicability in the treatment of mental diseases, especially autism patients. The traditional ASD treatment is based on special education and rehabilitation training. Larger human interference can relieve symptoms, but the effect of improving social skills and communication skills is not obvious, and the willingness of patients to interact is not high. Emerging virtual reality technology breaks through the limitations of traditional intervention methods. VR technology simulates various scenarios. Realism and high security can in turn be adjusted for personalization. In this paper, the literature on the application of virtual reality technology in the treatment of autism in recent years was searched through literature navigation. This article reviews the impact of virtual reality technology on social functioning, emotional intervention, and motor skills in individuals with autism. At the same time, due to the immersion of virtual technology, it is more beneficial for autistic children to transfer acquired skills into reality than general flat visual intervention. Nonetheless, the application of virtual reality technology in the rehabilitation of children with autism still faces many challenges.
