Abstract:
In order to test converters for electrical drives, it is intended to replace conventional motorbased test benches by purely power electronic load emulators in the future, which results in a multitude of advantages. In this paper, concepts are presented to ensure the usability of load emulators: Easy commissioning – including suitable selection criteria for the required components –as well as intuitive handling. A suitable control method is developed which allowsto assign active and reactive current as set pointvalues. Simulations are performed for power electronics components as well as control algorithms. The simulation results are compared to measurements from a small-scale (5kW) demonstrator.
