Abstract:
Designing power electronics for a coupled mechatronic system is a challenging task since the subsystems interact and influence each other. In a conventional process, the design is performed iteratively to find an optimal and manufacturable system-level solution. This engages huge efforts, as there are lots of interfaces involved and profound knowledge is required. Therefore, this paper describes a knowledge-based approach to enhance this development process. It is based on existing blueprints of electric machines and power electronics followed by a KBE supported optimization. This significantly reduces development efforts, time to market and additional design loops.
