Abstract:
Wireless power transfer (WPT) systems with high power densities are gaining popularity in many industrial applications. Often, the receiver should be especially compact, which asks for operating frequencies in the MHz range. In this work, a redesign of an inductive WPT reference system operating at 2 MHz and 500 W with a large voltage conversion ratio is presented. The DC-DC efficiency is increased from 91.1 % to 93.1 %. The specific optimizations of the transformer and of the dead time, which were applied to obtain the efficiency increase, are discussed.
