Abstract:
In this paper, a self-powered active bridge, in which a novel method to control rectification MOSFETs is applied, is proposed to improve the efficiency of the conventional PFC boost rectifier that comes with the diode bridge for commercial rectification. The number of external terminals of the proposed circuit is four which is same as that of the diode bridge, and the size of the proposed circuit is an almost the same as that of the 600 V diode bridge. The operation of the proposed circuit was verified experimentally, and the efficiency of a 2.4 kW PFC boost rectifier that comes with the proposed circuit was measured.
