Abstract:
Since the discovery of kaon in the last century, significant observations have been witnessed about its decay, especially the special CP violation phenomenon with ongoing state-of-art experiments. In this paper, we discuss the decay of kaons and its important CP violation phenomenon based on literature review of previous studies. With the different Kaon species, there exists a large variety of Kaon decay channels. In decays of the neutral Kaons, the CP violation phenomenon was observed in the 1960s. Theories of direct and indirect CP violation in weak actions were then formulated in the investigation of the phenomenon. Further important experiments were carried out from the 1960s to the 1990s, evidencing the existence of both types of CP violation, giving deeper insights to the current standard model and weak interactions. According to the analysis, we aim to provide a clear image of the research on Kaon decays and CP violation as well as their significance in the modern physics theory.
