Abstract:
The equipment on active service usually has identical maintenance strategies, which ignores the influence of different task execution onto equipment reliability, leading to decreased equipment reliability and the waste of maintenance resources. In light of this, it is essential to devise two-dimensional flexible maintenance strategies for different equipment usage rates, which can help to minimize the cost-effectiveness ratio of the equipment. This work takes the correlation between equipment usage time and usage rate and its influence on the failure rate into consideration to build a twodimensional predictive reliability model using the Copula function. During the active service of equipment, the equipment manufacturers combine minimum maintenance and periodic preventive maintenance with unequal intensity to optimize the maintenance strategy in the whole life cycle of the equipment to ensure the reliability of equipment while reducing the support cost. Based on different equipment usage rates, the manufacturers can make two maintenance strategies, namely, standardized and flexible strategies. The case study shows that the two-dimensional flexible maintenance strategy can effectively improve the utilization of maintenance resources and minimize the cost-effectiveness ratio of equipment.
