Abstract:
The tooth contact analysis (TCA) for the real flank of hypoid gear is a key reference to correcting the machine tool settings. In order to perform the transmission error and contact pattern of real gear surface, the bi-cubic B-spline surface is used for fitting tooth surfaces of pinion and gear accurately according to the measuring deviation of gear surface. Twodimension golden section iteration is used to increase the density of control vertices, The contact information of real gear surface is applied for adjusting machining-tool settings conveniently. In the end, the hypoid gear pair of automobile driving axle is used to verify the feasibility and correctness of the proposed algorithm.
