Abstract:
Voltage-fed inverters and converters are used in a variety of applications. They essentially consist of three elements: - DC-link capacitor bank - Busbar - Switching semiconductor power module. Knowledge of the commutation inductance is a necessary prerequisite for optimizing a system's circuitry. This means that the gate resistors for the switches are selected in such a way that on the one hand the maximum permissible reverse voltage is not exceeded and on the other hand the switching power losses are minimized. This paper considers and compares different methods for determining the commutation inductance.
