Abstract:
The aim of this work is the verification of the applicability of existing fault clearing strategies in HVDC systems while maintaining the AC angle stability. With the key performance indicator of the angle index, the system state can be eval-uated by dynamic simulation and used for further work to optimize the overall system security of the AC-HVDC system. The influence of the fault clearing time is investigated on monopolar and bipolar HVDC system topologies with and without the use of protection zones.
