An Extra-Low Voltage Inverter-Based Microgrid Test Bench for Teaching and Research

Abstract:
In this paper, we present a miniature microgrid test bench operated with extra-low voltages. Such a microgrid test bench is ideal for teaching and research purposes. It is relatively inexpensive and can be used by students with low practical experience without the risk of dangerous electrical shocks and without the need of large laboratories. The test bench is small enough to conduct experiments in regular offices. Besides the presentation of the microgrid test bench, we present first experiments including voltage control and primary power control.
