Abstract:
EMI filters for electric and electronic equipment are often designed taking into account the total noise produced by the equipment. In this paper, the author shows one approach for the diagnosis and reduction of conducted noise emission. A device for the separation of the conducted EMI noise into the common and the differential mode components has been designed, realized and tested. Moreover using this device, a new five steps design procedure for the design of EMI filters for electric and electronic equipment is presented. Experimental results, both for the separating device and the filter design procedure, on a studied case are given to show the validity of this work.
